This work was born from my experience as expat and tells about the first encounter with Berlin and its raw beauty, on a gray Autumn of some years ago. The huge spaces, the Plattenbauten and the Sovietic architecture of the place where I lived magnified the feeling of loneliness I felt in those days. The loss of most of my points of reference made me feel bewildered and disoriented. My fear acted like a filter on my eyes. Only when I let the fear go, I began to see the beauty around me.

The project Expat was developed in 2021 in collaboration with Nshotacademy led by the photographer Marco Monari for the collective project Quartieri Interiori which was exhibited in the Quasi Fotografo gallery in Verona.
